Park Neighborhood

Bronx Park is a neighborhood located in Ward 1 of St. Louis Park and covers 33 blocks. Bronx Park is bordered by Minnetonka Boulevard to the north, Burlington Northern Railroad to the south, Louisiana Avenue to the west, and the CP Railroad to the east. Bronx Park offers nearly 1,000 single-family homes with a population over 2,300 residents. Bronx Park neighborhood was subdivided around 1912 although the majority of homes in Bronx Park weren’t constructed until after World War II. The average year built for homes in Bronx Park is 1947.

Bronx Park is a small close-knit community offering numerous events and activities for all residents to enjoy. One event that is loved by locals is the Annual Neighborhood Picnic. This free family-friendly picnic brings the community together while offering great food. The picnic features hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, and kosher dogs along with numerous condiments and drinks. Other fun activities include the moonwalk for kids and face painting. Unity is an important part of the community within Bronx Park and events like this help build relationships and bring the community closer together.

Although Bronx Park does not have an abundance of restaurants and shopping areas within the neighborhood, residents enjoy a variety of amenities within surrounding neighborhoods. With the Blackstone neighborhood to north and other neighborhoods only a short distance away, residents of Bronx Park have easy access to all their shopping, dining, and entertainment needs.

The neighborhood of Bronx Park covers a total area of 241.6 acres and is home to 3 different parks including Bronx Park, Dakota Park, and Nelson Park.

Bronx Park: Bronx Park is situated within the neighborhood of Bronx Park, offering numerous recreational activities to all residents. Bronx Park features a baseball field, basketball court, playground equipment, and open space.

Dakota Park: Dakota Park is located in the northeast corner of the Bronx Park Neighborhood with several outdoor recreational options for residents to enjoy.  Dakota Park is home to baseball fields, softball field, dog park, picnic shelter, open space, and playground equipment.

Nelson Park: Nelson Park is located on the north end of the Bronx Neighborhood and offers several outdoor activities for residents to enjoy. Nelson Park features playground equipment, basketball court ice skating rink, community garden, and park building.
